Ionising radiation (IRR17) myth busting guide

The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR117) came into force on 1 January 2018 to replace the previous regulation from 1999 (IRR99). All veterinary employers who work with X-rays should have registered with HSE by Monday 5 February 2018. The Health and Safety Executive have issued Work with ionising radiation - Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 Approved Code of Practice and guidance.

This BVA guidance note is intended to help you navigate some of the myths and concerns that have arisen following the introduction of IRR17.
