The Temporary Control Zone restrictions have been lifted, but the premises near Feltwell remain under restriction pending the outcome of further tests.

Possible signs of Foot and Mouth Disease were originally detected in affected pigs on Thursday night (23 June), leading the Government to declare the Temporary Control Zone and order tests at the affected premises.  This was later replaced by a control zone for pigs only while they waited for the results of testing for Swine Vesicular Disease.

We are in regular contact with the Government and our relevant veterinary divisions and will post further information and advice when this is available.  Any animal keepers in the affected area are reminded to consult the Defra website for regular updates.
