Fitness to Practise and Standard of Proof

This working group developed our position on the recommendations from the RCVS Legislation Working Party under Part 4 of the LWP report: Introducing a modern ‘fitness to practise’ regime AND on RCVS recommendations in relation to the Standard of Proof, including:

  • Introducing the concept of current impairment
  • Widening the grounds for investigation
  • Introducing a wider range of sanctions
  • A change to the civil standard of proof for disciplinary
