Member Benefits and Events Committee

The Member Benefits and Events Committee (MBEC) plays a key role in the development of BVA’s package of member benefits, services, resources, and CPD programmes across a wide range of animal health and welfare, public health, and veterinary professional issues. MBEC works closely with BVA Officers and the BVA team to:

  • Keep existing member benefits under review and propose new benefits based on member research.
  • Act as a focus group during the development of new benefits, guidance and resources.
  • Oversee the development of BVA’s CPD programme for BVA Live and BVA Congress at London Vet Show.
  • Horizon scan for the hot topics of interest to the profession.

MBEC is currently:

  • overseeing the development of the BVA Congress programme for London Vet Show.


MBEC has recently:

  • finalised the programme for BVA Live.
  • supported the development of content for the BVA Employment Hub.
  • provided input into our freshers and graduate membership recruitment campaigns.
  • supported BVA at careers fairs.

MBEC is currently chaired by Guy Killick, and is composed of ten members, including:

  • At least two recent graduates
  • At least one vet student

Get involved

We advertise vacancies annually, in June, via our website, social media, and BVA Bulletin. Vacancies are open to MRCVS who also hold current BVA membership. The student vacancy is open to any veterinary graduate of a UK vet school.

Across the committee we encourage a range of expertise, interests, and backgrounds.
