Communications Director

Hybrid working (central London and home)

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Communications Director to join our senior leadership team. This role, reporting directly to the CEO, brings together our media & campaigns, and marketing & events teams and is responsible for leading a joined-up communications strategy for the whole organisation.  An exceptional communications professional, you will have the vision and skills to take our media & campaigning activities to the next level and further increase our visibility.  You will lead an effective marketing strategy to increase member recruitment and engagement, support income generation and raise the profile of our brand.  You will be comfortable working across traditional and digital media, and you will be responsible for both external and internal comms.  You will also have the opportunity to shape BVA’s overall strategic direction, working closely with the CEO on strategic planning.   

We’re looking for an exceptional individual with previous experience in a senior communications role, with a demonstrable understanding of marketing, media and campaigning. You will either already be working at this senior level or be ready to make the step up.

Role profile

Head of Policy and Public Affairs

Hybrid working (central London and home)

We’re looking for someone to lead our policy and public affairs team to develop BVA policy on a range of veterinary issues and deliver a proactive public affairs strategy to achieve policy change.  

We’re looking for an individual with experience working in research and/or policy development and experience of campaigning for policy change. You will have excellent political judgement and knowledge and understanding of the UK political environment, parliamentary procedures, and public affairs processes.
