BVA Wellbeing Awards
Celebrate your workplace
We want to celebrate veterinary workplaces that support and enhance the wellbeing of its team. The BVA Wellbeing Awards 2024 recognises veterinary workplaces that go above and beyond to support staff wellbeing as highlighted in the Good Veterinary Workplaces Voluntary Code.
This award is kindly supported by MSD Animal Health.
The BVA Wellbeing Awards have replaced the Vet Wellbeing Awards, which were founded by SPVS and run in partnership with RCVS Mind Matters Initiative.
Categories
- Small/medium practice (up to 25 employees)
- Large practice (over 25 employees)
- Non-clinical workplace
Entry criteria
Anyone in the veterinary profession can enter their workplace, you don’t need to be a BVA member. As laid out in the Health & Wellbeing and Culture sections of BVA’s Good Veterinary Workplaces voluntary code, entrants must show evidence in their workplace of:
- A positive workplace culture where mental and physical wellbeing is prioritised, and workplace stress is proactively managed
- Good communication between the team ensuring that all staff members are heard and valued
- Clear processes in place for making suggestions and enabling change
- Flexible working is supported, and regular breaks are encouraged
How to enter
- Shine a spotlight on your workplace by filling out our online form.
- Include supporting photos* to showcase the team culture, alongside the entry survey.
It is strongly encouraged for nominations to be a team effort, so everyone has the opportunity to share their views and experiences.
*Photos do not need to show every member of staff but should have more than one employee involved. This could include images of the workplace showcasing snapshots of initiatives and areas that aid staff wellbeing, captured moments of positive culture, wellbeing policies that are in place – be as creative as you like! The award isn’t based on quality of images – a phone camera is perfectly acceptable – we just want to see the people behind the work to back up the online nomination. We ask that no more than five photos are uploaded.
2024 nominations are now closed.
Prize
- Prestigious accolade as a high-wellbeing veterinary workplace and an award to showcase your winning effort
